Sicilian aesthetics and Italian state of the art technology meet in this collaboration between Dolce&Gabbana and Smeg SpA. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, the designers behind the iconic fashion house of their namesake, have extended the reach of their colorful and vivid aesthetic in a new partnership with the Italy’s premier appliance manufacturer.
The two style icons have now collaborated to present a luxurious Majolica Collection.
The collaboration makes for some of the most lavish appliances available in the marketplace.
The most recent fruit of their unique collaboration is the Smeg Majolica FAB28 Refrigerator, which can go along with lavish seaside cottages or the most upscale urban villa. The refrigerators make for the perfect combination of art and appliance, adding a quirky yet fashionable touch to any kitchen.
Each FAB28 is hand-decorated by Sicilian artists, from the area in which the brand draws a lot of its inspiration from. The detail seen in the paintings materializes the importance both brands’ emphasis on tradition, family and maintaining local roots.
The blue-and-white edition is inspired by antique Sicilian tiles and the stunning Majolica print features intricate images of Mount Etna and Grecian ruins from the Valley of the Temples.
In addition to the fridge, an aspirator or oven and hood have been currently introduced.

The original designer-manufacturer collaboration originated in the “Sicily is My Love” line, which debuted during the Milan Furniture Fair tin 2017 and with the unveiling of the following complimentary toasters, juicers, water kettles, and blenders—inspired by beautiful terracotta pots and tiles seen throughout Southern Italy.
Each item has been decorated with quintessential Sicilian motifs: gold lemons and citrus fruits, prickly pears and bold, bright cherries, framed in traditional triangular Sicilian decorations known as ‘crocchi.’ Each also features a selection of delicate floral designs, inspired by the coast and landscapes of southern Italy and Mount Etna, surrounded by ornamental friezes and decorative leaf motifs.
