Wogg’s creative director Christophe Marchand presents a new collection of storage furniture with tambour doors, which slide around the edge of a piece of furniture, allowing the entire interior to be seen without taking up any extra space.

“In our eyes, the beauty lies in the intelligence of the solution. The new tambour door slides silently along the track without resistance thanks to optimum weight distribution. Each of these pieces can stand alone in a room as an elegant monolith,” says Christophe Marchand.
The Wogg collection of Sideboards and Storage has recently been awarded a 2022 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
WOGG 75 was developed in-house in close cooperation with engineers and materials specialists over the course of 18 months.

The system is made up of a sliding mechanism – in this case, a cube-shaped guiding element – and aluminum profiles.
The small injection-molded plastic component houses a soft rubber tire and can be snapped into either the top or bottom of the slats, allowing the door to glide along the upper or lower track.
This lightweight construction makes do with a material thickness of just one millimeter, and its shape accommodates custom dimensions, enabling both convex and concave radii for the first time.

This ingenious system also managed to fix a common problem of tambour doors: with it, the doors can slide quietly without any jerking. It has practically unlimited potential in the field of furniture design.
For decades, WOGG has been developing and crafting tambour-door systems for wardrobes, sideboards, and other storage furniture, guided by a deep appreciation for their functional and aesthetic value.
