“Reforma was born from a reimagination of the typical modern bench in the form of a wooden seat on concrete legs. Our aspiration was to elevate the iconic form of the park bench and imbue it with a much fresher face,” explains Roman Vrtiška.
“That’s how the Reforma collection came about, founded on organically gently shaped concrete legs with contrasting wooden planks making up the seat and backrest,” Vladimír Žák adds.

The Reforma Bench, designed by Roman Vrtiška and Vladimír Žák and manufactured by mmcité, is a contemporary modular edition of the traditional urban benches in two versions, one with a backrest and one without a backrest, which can be assembled in long rows or in an arch or circle, or installed on a wall.
Reforma Bench has been recently awarded the “Best Urban Furniture of the Year” at the 2022 Prize Designs for Modern Furniture and Lighting from Global Design News and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.

It is an original and entirely contemporary design, but one that is archetypally familiar to all.
Benches usually stand in the nettles far from the nice places 2013 ugly benches with concrete bases and plain wooden boards.
Vrtiška and Žák attempt to create a modern interpretation of this overlooked element with this modular bench.

The simplicity and directness remain, adding refinement of form and subtlety of detail.
The base is made of solid concrete in two shades connected by hardwood or thermally modified wood slats.
The rest of all auxiliary steel elements are galvanized or stainless steel. The bench can be surface mounted.
