Furniture Designer Kristof De Bock collaborates with El Decora International to design a unique floor lamp having in mind the concept of getting rid of the standard standing or hanging position of a lighting fixture. The Monday lamp is tensed between ceiling and floor, but it is still easy to move with special vertical support.

This project has been awarded a 2020 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The structure is quite flexible, getting its straight form back, after being tensed for about 15 months.

The cylindrical part is made of plywood. Thirteen round pieces of 18mm thick are cut and glued together, sandpapered, polished, and then treated with varnish or linseed oil.
The height can be adjusted by loosening the metal button on the back.
The manufacturer suggests being adjusted with a bulb with a mirror top to give the best result.

This way it will shine not too hard and will illuminate the inside nicely.
The designer is also working on a second prototype with two small changes: to make the electric wireless visible; it will come out from under the cylindrical part, not the back, and it will also be translucent.
