Bad Steben, Germany
Designed by Kati Meyer-Brühl, Armand is an extraordinary, refreshingly innovative upholstered chair reminiscent of both Art Nouveau and the Empire style.
The distinctive form of the armchair with the very unusual curve of the armrest makes the Armand chair comfortable and inviting.
The project has been awarded a prestigious 2020 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
Armand’s semi-circular shell, which forms the back and foot of the chair, also holds the circular seat base and provides it with the necessary structural support.
Placed at a dining table, Armand functions as a chair; next to a sofa, it takes on the character of an armchair thanks to its all-around textile surfaces.
Depending on the type of cover—different colors, décors, and textile or leather surfaces—Armand can have very different effects, thus facilitating individual customization.
Handy in size and easy to move, Armand can be used and combined in many ways.
It is suitable for private residences as well as hotel lobbies or rooms, bars, restaurants, and other public spaces.
The chair is also offered with castors instead of gliders and is fitted with removable covers.
Armand is consistently ecological and sustainable in both material and production Robust, durable materials ensure a high life span.
