Mitsubishi Motors Corporation presents a new futuristic multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) reimagines the iconic Delica with a cutting-edge plug-in hybrid system, innovative technology, and a bold, adventure-ready design.
Combining spacious comfort with off-road prowess, the D:X Concept hints at Mitsubishi’s vision for the next generation of all-terrain family vehicles.

For its dynamic design, the Mitsubishi D:X Concept has been awarded with a 2024 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies
The D:X Concept showcases a robust design with sturdy over fenders and large-diameter tires, emphasizing its off-road readiness. The side window graphics extend from the front to the D-pillar, complemented by a reinforced rib-bone frame structure, enhancing both aesthetics and structural integrity.
Inside, the vehicle accommodates six passengers in a 2+2+2 seating arrangement. The panoramic seats can rotate and adjust vertically, fostering a versatile and interactive cabin environment.
A notable feature is the expansive front window paired with a see-through hood, achieved via a front-mounted camera that projects a virtual view of the terrain onto a dashboard display.
This setup enhances the driver’s field of vision, offering an “aerial cockpit” experience.

The D:X Concept is equipped with a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powertrain, delivering power to all four wheels through an electric four-wheel-drive system.
This configuration allows for emission-free short trips in EV mode and extended range in hybrid mode for longer journeys
The character of the Delica is expressed by the side window graphics extending from the front of the cabin to the robust D-pillar. The sturdy over fenders, large-diameter tires and high ground clearance convey a sense of strength, while provide excellent road performance that enables safe, secure ride even on rough road conditions.
The “Dynamic Shield” front face design concept, which conveys powerful performance and protection for people and cars, has been further evolved with an integrated shield that extends from the sides and a skid plate.
The distinctive T-shape lamps extend to both ends to produce an impression of width. In addition, The bright lights by projection laser technology that illuminate the road allow the driver to accurately assess road conditions ahead even on narrow roads.
The rear design concept “Hexaguard Horizon” with a 3-dimensional and hexagonal shape expresses SUV’s strength and stability.

Inside, the spacious mono-box interior provides ample room for all occupants.
The panoramic seats that rotate and move up and down and a front window and see-through hood that provide an open wide field of vision create an aerial cockpit, offering an unprecedented driving experience as if floating in the air.
The high eye position ensures forward visibility, making driving easier and creating a sense of openness.
During breaks, the front seats can be rotated backward to create an interior space where all occupants can enjoy conversation.
A voice-interactive “AI concierge” provides information on routes to destinations, weather conditions and other information to help ensure a safe and stress-free driving experience.
