The Prism Demo Kit explores the possibilities of combining E Ink with bold super graphics, negative space, vibrant colour and premium materials.
The concept is called “layer cake” where E Ink becomes the top layer of “frosting”. The Demo Kit is targeted toward designers, architects and creative directors.
The goal is to play, explore and be inspired, demonstrating the innovative possibilities of this material.

Prism Demo Kit by E Ink Corporation, won a 2025 Good Design Award from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design, and Urban Studies.
The visual language is anchored in a 50mm x 50mm x 50mm cube, precisely sliced at a 20° angle. This geometric cut introduces dynamic interaction with light, shadow, and colour.
Each “cake” has a distinct personality, shaped by a unique combination of materials, graphic treatments, and a carefully curated colour palette.

Materials include jazz marble, anodised aluminum, clear acrylic, cork, and oiled ash—each chosen for its visual richness and tactile appeal. These natural and refined surfaces resonate deeply with the design community.
The five “cakes” rest on a magnetic charging base, allowing them to be freely rearranged in any orientation.
When lifted from the base, the E Ink displays animate and shift in colour—powered wirelessly via embedded transmitters and receivers.
The Prism Demo Kit is more than a product sample—it’s a conversation piece, a design object, and a catalyst for reimagining what E Ink can be.
