Shure’s MV7i Smart Microphone & Interface delivers the world’s first and patented technology that allows users to plug in an additional XLR mic or instrument of their choice into the MV7i for two-channel recording.
For the first time, podcasters, musicians and content creators can capture studio quality audio without the complexity, expense or space requirements of traditional recording set ups.
Shure MV7i Smart Microphone and Interface byShure Incorporated, won a 2025 Good Design Award from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design, and Urban Studies.
The MV7i’s design eliminates the traditional barrier between microphone and interface through a built-in combo XLR and ¼” input that supports both dynamic and condenser microphones with 60dB gain and 48V phantom power.
The interface detects input types and automatically applies the appropriate Digital Signal Processing (DSP) that adapts to user needs without manual intervention.
This engineering provides professional-grade connectivity and processing capabilities within the familiar form factor creators already know and trust from Shure.
The powerful built-in DSP delivers studio-quality audio enhancement on both channels independently. Auto Level Mode with SmartGate™ Technology automatically calibrates gain based on proximity, volume, and room dynamics.
SmartGate intelligently reduces channel volume when speakers fall silent, eliminating crosstalk and ensuring clean audio. The Real-Time Denoiser actively reduces ambient noise making it ideal for home recording environments, while the Digital Popper Stopper™ removes harsh plosive sounds digitally, eliminating the need for physical pop screens.

The hardware was built for durability with a metal chassis to ensure longevity and reliability. It includes a colour-customisable LED touch panel featuring functions like mute control and dual-channel monitoring, helping creators make adjustments during live recordings without interrupting their creative flow.
Its USB-C output ensures broad compatibility across Mac, Windows, and mobile devices, with MFi certification for iPhone and iPad use, allowing the freedom to record anywhere with any device.
To extend the microphone’s capabilities for a comprehensive control, users can connect the device to MOTIV Mix™ Desktop app and MOTIV mobile apps.
The platform allows creators to customise LED panel behaviour, access multi-track recording configurations, and fine-tune audio parameters.
Three output modes accommodate different workflows: Mixdown Mode for streamlined live applications, Multi-Track Mode for post-production control, and Stereo Mode for voiceover applications.
These modes provide flexibility and ensure that every creator, regardless of their technical background or recording environment, has the tools they need to bring their vision to life.
The MV7i addresses the continued growth of podcasting, streaming, and home music production by leveraging Shure’s 100 years of audio expertise and design experience to create trusted technology.
It’s not just a microphone, it’s a gateway to professional audio production where audio workflow is reinvented in a way that empowers every creator to focus on their craft while Shure handles the technology, ensuring no story goes unheard.
