Alexander Lervik draws inspiration from the Swedish artistic heritage and local craftsmanship and designs a limited-edition furniture collection made of wedges and pegs, constructed out of leftover solid wood that derives from the designer and Drömtrappor’s staircase design project.

Hemvist has been awarded a Prize Design for Modern Furniture + Lighting 2023 by Global Design News and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum for Architecture and Design.
“I remember the first time I visited the factory; it is the only time in my 25 years in the furniture industry that I got goosebumps from seeing how the production is done, states Alexander Lervik.

“In front of me, furniture craftsmen worked with materials that mostly came from the forests outside the factory. It couldn’t be more sustainable.”
From the waste wood that arises in connection with the manufacture of the stairs, Alexander has designed a limited furniture collection consisting of a table, an armchair, and a bench – manufactured using the same technology as the stairs.
“In this furniture collection, I have simplified the shape to a graphic simplicity with a strong identity, ” explains the designer.
