Led by David Latimer at New Frontier Design, an architectural firm very well known for tiny home designs, have released their latest home project, a compact cabin for two, named “La Luna.”
This elegant structure presents itself as a volume with simple geometries clad in matte black 100-year corrugated steel. The overall design is characterized by its asymmetrical roofline, while the floor-to-ceiling glazing frames the surrounding landscape.
Serving as a getaway shelter for sunset lovers, the tiny house aims to enable people to reconnect with the natural landscape, leaving behind the bustling pace of the city.
The interior design team of New Frontier created a cozy and warm interior using an earthy color palette and all-white surfaces with soft textures and white-washed reclaimed flooring generate a brighter space while pops of walnut, black, and green of the plants add a modern boho style.
This tiny and compact cabin consists also of a “loft” space where the king-sized bed perches.
The Luna may be a compact cabin but it has all the features needed for a comfortable living. The loft stairwell takes full advantage of its size, hiding a full closet, cubbies, and additional storage in the most convenient place in the home.
An impressive feature is also the floor-to-ceiling glass window wall that allows one to be surrounded by nature and soak in the sun from nearly every view in the cabin.
