The H5A Camera Platform System by the Innovation Design Team of Motorola Solutions captures high-resolution video and audio to help security teams monitor interior public spaces by detecting unusual activity and movement of people and objects.
The system consists of corner mount, hallway, and 360-degree fisheye camera variants designed for specific environments.
Devices deliver and store high-resolution image detail while simultaneously providing maximum scene coverage with fewer cameras.
Integrated infrared technology is also incorporated to provide night vision capability.
The H5A Camera Platform System was awarded a 2021 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
Devices are embedded with next-generation AI allowing some video analytics to occur onboard without post-processing.
The H5A camera platform system solves the challenge to provide a connected, integrated system of cameras for various interior environments.
The H5A corner camera is designed for vandalism-prone areas such as public elevators, correctional institutions, and wherever hardened security is needed.
It features a unique “anti-ligature” mounting system which eliminates all external affordances in order to discourage theft.
Designers also developed an impact-proof design resistant to projectiles and forced detachment.
The H5A Hall Camera is designed to provide views from each end of the device, thereby reducing the number of cameras required to monitor a typical hallway.
The H5A Fisheye camera provides a full 360-degree view with a single image sensor.
Developers created a unique de-warping algorithm which enables the device to send a distortion free video feed.
After observing mounting scenarios and interviewing installers, designers developed a set of simplified accessories including recessed mounts, rain shields, and conduit/box terminations.
All devices in this system meet IP67 intrusion specifications.
Community and crowd safety relies increasingly on the ability to detect and predict incidents and conditions before they escalate.
The H5A Platform System embeds video analytics to provide enhanced appearance search, object detection, tracking and classification, Unusual Activity Detection (UAD), and a number of pandemic response technologies including occupancy counting and face mask detection.
It also reduces the number of cameras required in a system due to extended range and power.
H5A components provide a pathway for a system which proactively flags critical events and conditions to enable decisively quicker, safer, and better-informed responses with fewer resources.
