Designed by Janne Uusi-Autti, Pioni Plywood Lamp is crafted from thin birch plywood, bent into a beautifully organic shape allowing the realization of the flowing shape, specially engineered for Showroom Finland.
This project has been awarded a 2020 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The modern look of the lamp has been inspired by the beauty of nature, making Pioni, the Finnish word for “peony”, delicate and eye-catching at the same time.
Designer Janne Uusi-Autti expanded his work to new materials in his new design for Showroom Finland.
The combination of high-end, thin plywood and precision in design come together in the beautiful, organic Pioni lamp.
The Pioni lamp is made of 0.6 mm thin birch plywood with gentle white or black staining to create a unique, beautiful balance between soft and strong.
