Los Angeles, California, USA
Assembledge+’s Beverly Grove Residence is a two-story structure situated within the verdant Hollywood Hills with breathtaking vistas of Los Angeles, composed of simple geometries and conceived by the architects as a canvas that brings together texture, warmth, and harmony, while simultaneously engaging notions of contrast and separation.

The Beverly Grove Residence has been awarded a 2023 American Architecture Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
A horizontal division separates the building horizontally. The lower panels are made of Extira, which provides a grounding effect, while the upper panels are made of Western Red Cedar, which connects with nature by adding warmth and color. The black fascia and metal accents enhance the contrast between materials.

This separation highlights the lower floor’s connection to the pool deck, creating an indoor-outdoor entertainment area with downtown LA views.
Inside, cabinetry by Henrybuilt, including a custom-built integrated kitchen, creates a sense of cohesiveness, enhancing the spaces with refinement, functional sophistication, and quality craftsmanship.

An oak staircase with painted steel railings rises to the second floor, while double-height windows fill the space with natural light.
The upper floor is reserved for guest rooms and a primary suite that extends to the south-facing deck—an invitation to enjoy the natural vistas.
Sustainability is prioritized through FSC-certified wood, a solar photovoltaic system, operable windows for user comfort control, and xeriscape landscaping.
