Moscow, Taldom District, Village Veretyevo, Russia
Alexander Brodsky uses art and nature to create Veretevo Park, a perfectly suited outdoor space for city dwellers who seek contact with nature but prefer not to leave their comfort zone.
Veretevo Park has recently been awarded a 2022 International Architecture Awards Honorable Mention by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The park, which opened in 2021 in the north of the Moscow region, consists of numerous architectural art objects that organically fit into the untouched marsh landscape on the territory of 7 hectares.
Some of the architectural objects house thematic libraries collected by literary critic and curator Anna Narinskaya.
Thanks to wooden eco-trails raised above the ground, the park is accessible at any time of the year – even during heavy rains and floods.
The Park is situated on 7 hectares of natural swamps and trees, bushes, and thickets.
Ascetic boardwalks pave the walking routes, while one-of-a-kind sculptures and curated libraries serve as means of entertainment. Veretevo Park is a perfect embodiment of the land art genre, inspired by 21st-century realities.
The goal was to create a space where everyone gets a chance to reconnect with nature, restore their energy while remaining in comfort, and get inspired by art pieces.
