Inspired by the overlapping layers in a sumi-e painting that mirrors the depth of a mountainscape, Jadescape, designed by ONG&ONG and Tange Associates, a residential development featuring seven 20-story residential towers, was conceptualized with an Asian garden theme.

Jadescape has been awarded a 2023 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
Drawing inspiration from nature, particularly the nearby MacRitchie Reservoir, Jadescape offers picturesque views at every turn.
The residential towers mimic the grandeur of a mountain range, mirroring the contours of MacRitchie Reservoir.
The planning and design of this development strategically position the façades of the towers toward MacRitchie Reservoir.
This intentional orientation establishes a seamless connection between the towers and maximizes the scenic views of the reservoir from each building.
The concept of Sumi-e (ink painting) was employed to foster a sense of interrelation and connection between the residential complex and its environment.

The towers are thoughtfully positioned to mitigate sun exposure and enhance natural ventilation.
Incorporating oriental aesthetics, the timber-like cladding, frames, and lattice screens soften the building facades.
In contrast to monolithic, imposing walls, each building possesses a distinct identity while maintaining harmony within the site.
The strategic layering of their placement creates intriguing nooks throughout the estate, offering residents a variety of areas with diverse ambiance and scenery to discover.
