With many looking for an alternative for fitness, commuting, or public transport, electric bikes are experiencing a kind of boom. The new addition in this electric bicycle market is the “e-Scrambler” from Ducati, the name that generally arouses the interest of motorcycle enthusiasts.
The new Ducati e-Scrambler is equipped with a 250-W Shimano Steps E7000 mid-drive motor (60 Nm of torque) and a 504 Wh Shimano battery pack. Ducati does not provide an estimate of autonomy, but if one refers to the performance of other electric bikes equipped with the same engine and battery, the real autonomy could go up to 120 km (75 miles) in the eco mode.
All frames are made of 6061 aluminium with CNC machined parts and hydroformed tubes with variable thickness. The Design is “Made in Italy”, the graphics are created by Aldo Drudi with the support of the Ducati Design Center.
Other notable components are the Suntour XCR34 forks or the 27.5-inch Thok e-plus wheels (mounted on Pirelli Cycl-e rims).
Driving pleasure and ease of use are guaranteed by the Sram NX transmission with 11 speed (11- 42), Sram 4-piston brakes and a wealth of accessories essential for everyday use such as aluminum mudguards, a luggage rack designed to carry side bags, a kickstand, and a telescopic seat post to increases the comfort.
Finally, note that its final weight is 22.5 kilograms, which is average for an e-bike.
The low center of gravity and the geometry of the 6061 and alloy frame allow the e-Scrambler to offer the same driving sensations as a traditional bike, making it, in fact, the ideal companion in the city or to enjoy the country roads.
The bicycle has an urban style with a color palette consisting of yellow for the frame and black for the rest of the items. Speaking of the box, this can be purchased in four different sizes according to the height of each user; the color, however, cannot be changed.’
