Carnegie Expands Value-Performance Line, Designed Without Compromise on Safety or Durability
Carnegie, a leader in sustainable textiles and acoustical management solutions for the commercial industry, proudly announces Cressida and Verona, two new upholstery patterns in its Elements Collection. Carnegie’s Elements brand offers a versatile range of affordable upholstery fabrics that maintain high quality. Cressida and Verona deliver affordable sophistication to designers who need performance without trade-offs, reaffirming Carnegie as the 100% PVC-free source for high-performance coated upholstery.
Both Cressida and Verona offer a refined leather look. Cressida features a dimensional basket-weave emboss and comes in 19 colors, from warm to cool tones, making it a versatile choice that blends performance with an elevated aesthetic. Verona offers a sleek, smooth finish in 26 neutral and earthy tones. Together, they expand Carnegie’s growing portfolio of coated upholstery solutions that meet the demands of modern interiors.

The patterns provide 250,000 double rubs, resist hydrolysis for ten weeks, are water and solvent-cleanable, bleach-cleanable, inherently flame-resistant, and inherently antimicrobial. They are finish-free, PVC-free, PFAS-free, contain no added antimicrobials, stain-resistant finishes, or red list chemicals. They are California Prop 65 compliant, RoHS & REACH compliant, and meet standards such as Mindful Materials, HHI, Kaiser Permanente, and LEED, all while featuring extremely low VOCs.
“The launch of Cressida and Verona strengthens Carnegie’s coated upholstery story, showing the breadth and depth of solutions available,” says Mary Holt, Chief Design Strategist at Carnegie. “From solids in every hue to bold statement patterns, organic to geometric embosses, printed woven-look textures, and realistic leather alternatives, with every addition, we’re expanding a holistic portfolio of coated upholstery fabrics that meet the demands of any project—whether the priority is price, sustainability, bold design, or a specific need performance.”
With Cressida and Verona, Carnegie continues to advance its performance upholstery that meets the rigorous demands of healthcare and educational environments. From hospital rooms to even classrooms, the new patterns balance exceptional durability with a commitment to material health, standing up to harsh cleaners, heavy use, and high-traffic settings without compromising safety or sustainability. By eliminating PVC, PFAS, and other harmful additives, these patterns empower designers to create cleaner, longer-lasting, and healthier spaces for all occupants.

Since 1950, Carnegie has pushed the boundaries of what’s possible, proving time and again that high-performance solutions can also be elegant and environmentally sound. As the only B-Corp-certified textile manufacturer in the U.S. and proudly 100% PVC-free since day one, Carnegie leads the industry in service to its mission: to galvanize the design community to build a better future with materials that matter.
