Lotus is another alluring tile series from Yurtbay Seramik that reflects the designer and manufacturers’ approach as embodied by the phrase “from nature to art.”
This innovative tile series was created by using waste materials from the company’s tile production.
Visually and metaphorically, the form and recycling process both evoke the lotus flower, which blossoms elegantly out of muddy waters.
For its sustainable design, Lotus has recently been awarded a 2022 Green GOOD DESIGN Sustainability Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
With this project, the design team emphasizes creating a more sustainable world by turning production into a more environmentally friendly process.
The result is the transformation of waste into beautiful new tiles.
The tiles allow both indoor and outdoor use and can be placed in a wide range of spaces: from bathrooms to kitchens, from terraces to balconies, from living areas to social areas.
