Led by Yorgo Lykouria and his team at Rainlight Studio in Culver City, California together with Centro Progetti Tecno, the Aura Chair favours thinking and meditation.
In a modern-day society that is constantly connected and geared to sharing, the enveloping shape of the shell helps to create a private space, favouring a feeling of privacy and aiding concentration in coworking spaces, lounges, open-plan offices and home offices, as well as in community and public places.
As humans crave a connection to nature, the designers approached the design for Aura as a cocoon for meditation and solitude within the buzz of modern-day life.
The explored new materials and processes in order to craft a naturalistic envelope, wrapping the user in a refuge of meditation, concentration and solitude within any environment.
It’s a chair you sink into and do not want to leave.
Aura is comprised of a mono-satin methacrylate monocoque shell, which is available in various colours with an upholstered pad that is removable and can be upholstered in most fabrics.
The base is die-cast and powder coated to reflect the nature of the shell.
The ample cushioned liner incorporating differentiated support zones is designed to guarantee the correct ergonomic sitting position for optimum user comfort.
Aura’s carefully studied shapes and precise ergonomics make the seat comfortable and welcoming; the design expresses Tecno’s hallmark technical elegance and technologically advanced content through the choice of materials and manufacturing processes.
