Designed by the founder of Micro Mobility Systems, Wim Ouboter, and manufactured by the company’s U.S. partner Micro Kickboard, the new Mini Deluxe Eco Scooter is created 50% from recycled ocean plastic.

Mini Deluxe Eco Scooter’s project recently won a 2022 Green Good Design Award from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

Micro Kickboard takes maritime waste such as discarded fishing gear, ropes, and trawl nets, cleans it, melts it, and pours it to make the Mini Micro Deluxe Eco decks and brakes.

Micro’s goal is to tackle the global ocean plastic crisis at its root through these preventative measures and a circular economy, offering fishermen the opportunity to recycle their old gear/nets and give them a second life.

The Mini Deluxe Eco is Micro’s 3-wheeled, lean-to-steer scooter for ages 2-5. The product has the same features as the popular Mini Deluxe: a patented steering system used by shifting weight to promote balance and fine motor skills, an adjustable handlebar that allows the scooter to grow with children, and a non-slip silicone footplate to ensure support and safety as the child rides.
