Nashville, Tennessee, USA
Hastings Architecture’s Gulch Hub headquarters for Asurion creates a dynamic horizontal campus within an urban environment, fostering collaboration and connectivity among over 2,000 employees.
The development comprises of two interconnected buildings—one nine stories, the other eight—linked by shared landscaped podiums and sky bridges on the fifth and seventh floors.
Asurion is a global technology company and the leading provider of device insurance, warranty and support services for cell phones, consumer electronics and home appliances with over 280 million customers worldwide.
The global headquarters, developed by Highwoods Properties, is designed to foster productivity, collaboration, and innovation to attract and retain talent while enhancing and engaging the neighborhood and broader community.
For its design qualities, the project has been awarded with a 2024 American Architecture Award from the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
Situated at a crucial intersection, this new tech campus connects Downtown Nashville and the lower Gulch neighborhood with Midtown and Capitol View unifying the most exciting areas within Nashville’s urban core which have historically been divided by overpasses, railroads, and industrial areas.
Asurion Gulch Hub enhances the pedestrian experience on both 11th Avenue and Church Street with a monumental stair mediating the 42-foot elevation difference between the two streets.
The monumental stair knits the previously disconnected site together while offering a public amenity to the community.
Designed to provide a dynamic horizontal campus in an urban environment, the 567,0000-SF complex is composed of two interconnected buildings.
The campus encourages collaboration and connectivity with a shared podium, elevated terraces, and sky bridges on the fifth and seventh floors.
The headquarters offers teams and individuals choice and flexibility to support a wide range of departments and workstyles.
Connecting bridges, communicating stairs, and shared amenity coffee bars and dining are placed to encourage movement throughout the building and increase opportunities for casual interactions between employees.
Biophilic design strategies and access to over 80,000-SF of outdoor green space improve the wellness of users in and outside the building.
