Vienna-based industrial designers Rainer Mutsch and Lis Eich have designed a modular pendant light collection for the Austrian lighting brand Loum.
The project has been awarded a 2021 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
Vault structures have been the inspiration for the Arkade lighting system to imply a feeling of protection.
Due to a simple connection mechanism, up to four arcs can be connected to different formations making the system highly capable of adapting to various table sizes and room situations.
Each of the individual elements is made of powder-coated aluminum and is equipped with two dimmable and glare-free LED light sources.
