Produced by Pentatonic in partnership with i am OTHER, the creative collective assembled by singer Pharrell Williams, the Pebble by Otherware is a personal cutlery kit that eliminates the need for single-use eating utensils.
Just clip on your Pebble, and you’re ready for sustainable eating.
Complete with knife, fork, spoon, chopsticks, and a straw, Pebble equips you to enjoy food truck pad thai, a salad in the park, or an iced coffee at your desk.
The Pebble’s case is “made from music” using recycled CDs, handles from recycled food packaging, and tips from anodised, titanium-coated steel, lending the product its uniquely coloured tool heads.
The metallic layer of the CDs is removed and the plastic is then shredded and turned into pellets. Pigments are added and the pellets are heated and moulded into the plastic components for the Pebble.
Other materials include recycled food packaging and stainless steel.
While Pebble is designed to last a thousand meals or more, it too can be added to your local recycling bin.
Or better yet, trade the Pebble back to the manufacturer to repurpose the material and make new things.
The set is designed to be easy to slip into any purse or bag.
This is the first item in the Otherware collection, a design collaboration between Pentatonic and Pharrell Williams’ creative brand, I am Other.
