Hamburg, Germany
Munich-based 1zu33 Architectural Brand Identity has created the new radiant and incandescent, the multi-faceted flagship store for Occhio in Hamburg.
In keeping with Occhio’s image as a lighting company, the architects have conceived of a resplendent showcase for the firm as the company highlights living spaces, moods, and atmosphere, while promoting a new culture of light.
Occhio is based on an idea that is as simple as it is revolutionary: Drawing on the belief that quality of light means the quality of life, the company develops holistic, multifunctional luminaire and spotlight systems for home and commercial settings.
Located directly right opposite the town hall, Occhio provides a 600 m² show area to consult architects and homeowners and allow them to experience the lighting solutions first hand.
Lush windows present prime products, while a video wall guides visitors along with living and dining room displays.
A black steel staircase surrounded by a small garden ascends to a generous bar and adjoining meeting space that looks out onto the town hall.
The store combines a product-focused area and a lounge area on two floors.
The entire room concept is built upon bright, harmonious colors.
‘‘Our endeavor is to develop innovative and unique product families for holistic lighting design,’’ said Axel Meise, founder and designer of Occhio.
“I will be delighted if we are able to communicate the added value of good light to visitors at the new Occhio store.”
