American product design company Newell Brands presents a new edition of the historic Mr. Coffee, the Mr. Coffee Iced Coffee Maker a coffee maker specially designed for iced coffee lovers, creating refreshing iced coffee in minutes at home.
The project has been awarded a 2021 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

During the 1970s, Mr. Coffee was the world’s first in-home automatic drip coffee maker, creating an entirely new category of easy-to-use products for the home.
The product is designed to provide a delightful, unexpectedly simple experience to a routine that has become overly complex and involved.

A compact, fully integrated round design was chosen to minimize countertop footprint and offer a fresh new take on the coffeemaker landscape, which has traditionally been filled with bulky, over-designed machines.
Relocating the brew basket above the water tank was a critical choice to enable this, letting the product have a strong, simple, hourglass silhouette without extraneous details or forms.
One of the most misunderstood areas in coffee brewing is measuring and ratios, leading to unexpected results and bad-tasting coffee.
Extra time, effort, and research was spent creating an easy-to-understand measuring system, including a custom fill scoop and graphical guides, to ensure the perfect ratio of beans to water and a great-tasting cup of coffee every time.
