São Paulo, Brazil
A new landmark in the city of Sao Paolo, Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates and KOM Arquitetura’s Faria Lima tower is emblematic of urban renewal that engages with the surrounding context and community, located along a main avenue, at the intersection between recent and future urban development.

For its dynamic design, Faria Lima Plaza has recently won a 2024 International; Architecture Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The building transforms the city’s skyline and enriches the urban fabric by prioritizing accessibility for the public.
Elevated on 11-meter columns, the tower liberates the plaza beneath, seamlessly connecting with the neighboring marketplace.
This design approach reflects a commitment to urban design that actively engages with the community.
The shaded public space beneath the raised structure provides a place where office workers and community members can relax, in a landscaped plaza with water features and seating – the integration of nature into the ground plane serves to strengthen the connection to the lush Brazilian landscape, creating inviting urban spaces for public enjoyment.
The tower’s interlocking form embodies the spirit of Forro, a Brazilian dance characterized by a close embrace and the interlocking of the dancers’ bodies.

Floor plates vary in size as the tower ascends, allowing for a variety of tenant options.
Certified LEED Gold, the tower integrates various sustainability strategies, such as low cement content concrete, rainwater harvesting and energy efficient MEP systems.
Direct access is provided to the subway, bus terminal, bicycle path, and commuter train station. Below-grade garage space offers car, motorcycle, and bike parking, as well as electric vehicle charging stations.
The development improves quality of life in the area through investments in public space and urban mobility.
The Faria Lima Tower emerges not just as a building but as a harmonious blend of culture, accessibility, and environmental consciousness, contributing significantly to the vitality of the city.
dynamic, interlocking form acts as a marker on the thoroughfare toward São Paulo’s flourishing financial district.
