Aedas’ Houhai Building Decoration Industry Headquarters is a landmark office development that embodies corporate philosophy, sustainability, and community engagement in Shenzhen’s emerging Houhai Headquarters Base.
Shenzhen Houhai Building Decoration Industry Headquarters has recently been awarded a 2022 International Architecture Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The site covers an area of 4,808.17 square meters, right next to the urban cultural and commercial axis on the south side.
The project contains a commercial and office program with a 49,235.14 square meters building area and 120 m of height.
The design takes full consideration of the site conditions by facing the lower part of the building to the green axis and the higher part to Shenzhen Bay, which creates an urban interface at the bottom and a landscape boundary at the top.
The design for the building comes from the concept “Gate of the Green Valley.”
A group of well-proportioned green platforms that seamlessly connect with the skylight lift lobby is generated by extending the landscape of the green axis vertically into the tower.
The “green valley” part of the building is dotted with glass boxes that form flexible working spaces.
The design follows a human-oriented philosophy that strives to produce a healthy working environment for users in the post-pandemic era.
