Verbier, Switzerland
Dubai-based L.S Design architects have managed to design a sustainable, elegant, and luxurious alpine chalet in the secluded ridge in Verbier, Switzerland.

According to the architectural team, the house is a feast of innovation in terms of material and technology from the self-heating pains of glass to the antifreeze surfaces as well as the recirculating water reservoir.

The house has thermal heating that keeps a constant 24 degrees with minimal energy consumption.
Omar Abdelghafour, the lead architect, made sure that the residence would be a combination of contemporary design and traditional chalet design with one side using concrete windbreakers to protect the house from the elements while the other is a full pain of jumbo glass.

An interesting structural detail is that the whole house straddles on an exposed foundation to prevent damp from rising.
