Italdesign and Ducati present Urban-E, the folding e-bike ideal for urban mobility, combining innovative and ergonomic solutions with a unique style.
Available in black or gray versions, Urban-E is built on a special aluminum frame, designed by the Ducati designers in collaboration with their colleagues working at the Industrial Design Division of Italdesign, featuring an “Easy-Folding System” allowing an easy fold and release in a few simple steps.
The cockpit presents a fully integrated LCD display in the stem, allowing the control of all the
assistance functions, checking the remaining battery charge and turning the LED lights on and off.
Thanks to the 378Wh battery, Urban-E has up to 70 km range with a full charge.
“Foldable e-bikes are more and more common as a means of sustainable transport in cities. Working on this project and making it unique was a great challenge,” said Nicola Guelfo, Head of Industrial Design of Italdesign.
“These bikes present significant technical constraints: our approach to the project, common to each project we face, has been to bring together styling and engineering solutions. We have inserted distinctive Ducati stylistic elements and adapted them to the structural and design requirements and to the typical purposes of a bike, and of course, considering the users’ needs.”
Designers and engineers worked together to create an e-bike with a very clean and functional style. The battery is integrated into the frame and recalls motorcycles fuel tanks with the typical Ducati Red color and arched shapes, becoming itself a styling element.
The LED lights are also integrated into the frame, the suspension fork, the 20″x4″ fat tires with Kevlar anti-puncture technology mounted on double-shoulder aluminum rims, and the rear mudguard, in addition to accentuating the racing style of the bike, ensure maximum comfort while driving, even on the most irregular routes.
