Hainan ECO Smart City – Digital • Technology • Green Field by landscape architects ISA Internationals Stadtbauatelie with Hainan Nanhai CoudPlanning and Design Research for Hainan Ecological Wisdom New Town Group is a new ecological development that harness the power of AI technology.
As society transforms into a futuristic digital civilization through the progression and spread of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the project establishes an “AI-Hub.”
The hub optimizes the ecological performance, planning adjustment, and operational efficiency of the city through “deep learning” spaces introduced and cultivated into the urban texture.
For its innovative design, Hainan ECO Smart City – Digital • Technology • Green Field has recently been awarded a 2022 Green GOOD DESIGN Sustainability Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
This new “city” is perceived as an ensemble of “third space,” in other words, spaces beyond working and dwelling.
The design also explores an innovative communication platform for dialogue between traditional Chinese spatial typologies and the indigenous cultural characteristics of Hainan.
For the project, AI has been fully integrated into urban and natural environments.
Virtual and physical elements mingle to form the result— a “Digital Technology Green Field.”
