Dublin, Ireland
Designed by Jordan Ralph and his team at JDR, the hyper-modern 804 C Table was commissioned by Thinkhouse, a digital-first marketing company in Dublin.
The client wanted a conference table light enough for two people to move aside for morning yoga classes, yet strong enough to withstand several people jumping on it during an animated client pitch or staff party.
As well as being bomb-proof and lightweight, the table had to be visually bold and incorporate the Thinkhouse brand colour; Fluro Pantone 804 C.
The concept developed for the tabletop was informed by a surfboard build, with a foam core and fibre-glass shell.
A steel frame reduced material usage with cleverly placed legs that also acted as structural supports.
The top build consists of a foam core with an inner spine + ribs of timber, wrapped in a fibreglass shell with a custom gel-coat finish, in the agency’s brand colour.
By utilising a steel frame build, the table can span a great distance, while staying completely rigid, even under the weight of several adults.
