Heerim Architects & Planners has completed the Haeundae Beach Golf & Resort, a “new concept of a four-season luxury marine complex resort” with differentiated landscape planning that covers the needs of visitors.
Haeundae Beach Golf & Resort has recently been awarded a 2022 International Architecture Awards Honorable Mention by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The concept of an old saying, “Eum Pung Nong Wol” – to evoke joy by rhyming along the wind and writing poetry looking at the moon – is infused into the detailed design concept of each building that could let them blend into the surrounding natural environment and maintain harmonized combination within the nature.
Therefore, residential buildings on different ground levels were planned intentionally, buildings at a lower level to orient to the adjacent natural view, and at a higher level to face the ocean view in distance.
At the same time, buildings are mainly oriented toward the southeast to secure a pleasant living environment and natural daylight. 4 building types that well adapt to sloped topography on different levels are planned. 12 pieces of nature open up like folding screen
The concept that connects light, wind, greenery, and water together through different dynamics in each space created each floor’s massing three-dimensionally enlarging terrace area, and presented a distinctive outdoor terrace view from the entrance making the most of widened terrace area.
Embodying design concept inspired by the Album of Mt.Geumgang in the Autumn of the Year of Sinmyo describing the scenery of magnificent nature with noblemen enjoying the beautiful natural landscape communing with nature on the tableland, unique terraces are arranged to present a blessed view of the ocean and natural landscape to all units.
Moreover, the indoor courtyard planned in a terrace-courtyard-entrance layout enabled nature from outside and inside to be pulled into the guests’ circulation.
Feeling that becoming one with nature at 11 Pavilions designed as a place to enjoy ‘Pungryu’, where even natural wind can stay, rest, and enjoy together.
The swimming pool is specially designed as a gorgeous view of the sky and ocean could be seen simultaneously, and a spacious terrace is arranged in connection with the entrance to directly provide an outdoor view enabled to avoid dullness and present a sense of openness.
