Fitbit and its Industrial Design Team create the new all-paper Fitbit Sustainable Tracker Packaging design that introduces the brand’s products with an easy and delightful unboxing experience that reduces carbon footprint.

Fitbit Sustainable Tracker Packaging’s project recently won a 2022 Green Good Design Award from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The gently contoured pulp tray protects the device during shipment and upon opening displays it elegantly as the user’s sole focus, with a pullable tab waiting to reveal the charger and band accessories.

The tracker packaging is a blank canvas capable of showcasing multiple generations of trackers within various retail environments.
Using the same tools across multiple products, saves money and material, lowers packaging weight by 15%, and reduces shipping and energy costs by fitting more devices per pallet—all while letting users recycle at home without separating materials.

The new packaging design starts customers’ experience of the Fitbit brand and ensures that the brand values include delight, ease of use, and conscious sustainability.
