Canada-based lighting designer and manufacturer company Eureka Lighting presents Mill, a range of acoustic luminaires specially designed to reduce ambient noise and at the same time create a stylish interior.
Τhe design has been awarded a 2021 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
Each Mill luminaire is made of fifteen overlapping acoustic felt blades that create a cylindrical shape that effectively traps and absorbs sound within the luminaire’s hollow column.
The repetition of Mill’s panels creates a dynamic visual rhythm, animating the cylindrical body.
The acoustic Felt PET material is composed of at least 40% recycled content and is 100% recyclable.
Mill luminaire is offered in 30 colors so designers can add bursts of bright color to bring life to spaces or play with the rich palette of neutral tones for a more subtle look.
Mill’s cylindric Ø370mm body is available in heights of 360mm, 610mm, and 890mm, and is cleverly suspended from a single cable with no adverse shadow effects due to the high-performance diffusing of both light sources.
Fixtures can also be surface-mounted, and Mill is offered with a wide variety of direct and indirect high efficiency LED sources, color temperatures, color rendering options, and dimming control choices including the industry-leading nLight® system.
