With the Octogone lighting collection, designed by Ambroise Maggiar, Baccarat reinterprets the iconic octagonal pendant of its chandeliers. Conceived to adapt to any space, the collection is infinitely modular and encourages playful freedom of assembly. Pendant, sconce, or ceiling lamp, with 1 or 3 lights, its elements can be combined to the heart’s desire, giving rise to personalized compositions.
Each piece, intricately cut with subtle patterns, sculpts the light and reveals a captivating play of reflections. Using the Casambi application, available on smartphone, the LED intensity and color temperature can be adjusted to create bespoke lighting moods. Born in the 19th century, Baccarat’s octagonal pendant has transcended the eras, continually reinventing itself. Transformed into a lighting piece, it boldly embraces the 21st century, embodying a modern art de vivre.

About: Ambroise Maggiar is a French designer born in Paris in 1978. He started his career in Milan to explore industrial processes in the consumer sector, through the Household Appliances market, before joining the Philippe Starck’s agency in 2011 in Paris. His knowledge of industrial processes and his vision earned him to take over as head of the design department and to co-sign products with the designer. This collaboration allows him to operate in all facets of creation for the jewels of
luxury goods, industry and the best publishers of the world; Kartell, Magis, Flos, Alessi, Duravit, Baccarat, Cassina or Samsung. From 2017 to 2019, he ran the design department of Studio Urquiola in Milan, where he developed resounding outdoor collections and «art de vivre» products, both smart and decorative.
In 2020, he founded his own design studio in Milan. Today, Ambroise Maggiar studio collaborates with the luxury industry; Omega, Dior, Baccarat… Creates exclusive design pieces for Pretziada, XLBoom, CRILOI or Groupe Charlois… Conceives bespoke furniture for the hospitality sector, such as the 5-star Parisian hotel Madame Rêve (Laurent Taïeb Group) and teams up with La Cabane Perchée, the best French tree-house builder to imagine architectural projects to live and dream in. He also joined Artworklove Agency as design Director and became a board member of the NGO Libraries Without Borders Italia to design deployment tools to facilitate access to education, culture and information.
