King Abdullah Economic City, Saudi Arabia|2019
egdeARCH architects created the design of a brand new leisure facility in the heart of the Lagoona District, the Motorsport Park that showcases the sense of speed and motion of acceleration and drift, a place for serious racing lovers.

The design of theLagoona Motorpark Pit Building was short-listed for a 2021 International Architecture Award from The Chicago Athenaeum and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
In the very heart of the Lagoona District, in the King Abdullah Economic City, a new sport, family, and leisure facility will soon be born: the Motorsport Park with its 5200 sqm PIT building facility to serve an innovative and attractive race track circuit.

The main PIT building serves a new track circuit, which offers twelve different routes in order to meet all international track requirements.
The architecture design blends ideas and necessities in a vast, beautiful, rational, and organized space.

To achieve this, the project design displays a three-floor building, which contains all elements needed to spend a beautiful day with family, friends, and fellow race fans: these include an entrance hall, a triple-height entrance hall leading to a cafeteria, and a playground area directly facing the pitlane.

This enhances the engagement of racing lovers to live the thrills of the motors closely.
The Paddock Club on the first floor, with its unique terraced area, offers guests and fans an incredible 360° view of the circuit, enjoying the live-in activities of the Paddock during the racing days.

The second floor is reserved for the VIP Lounge and Cigar Lounge for an outstanding experience of the events, giving VIP guests the possibility to watch the race through an exclusive panoramic view.
