Under the title “Echoes of the Earth,” Héctor Ruiz Velázquez’s stand for Decocer at Cersaie 2025 is a material manifesto that celebrates expressiveness, sustainability, and the versatility of small-format ceramics. The pavilion, designed as a large ceramic mass opened with an organic, human gesture, invites visitors into a compact 65 m² space where ceramics transcend their traditional role as surface coverings to become structure, space, and narrative. Three monumental cylinders inspired by natural tree trunks, constructed entirely from small-format pieces, guide visitors through an immersive journey where the material shapes movement and atmosphere.
Decocer’s presentation at this leading international ceramics and design fair demonstrates an innovative vision: a modular, sustainable installation that is dismantlable and reusable, allowing visitors to walk through, touch, and inhabit the ceramics. This design approach underscores how small-format tiles do not simply cover surfaces but actively shape the environment, tell stories, and evoke emotion through the power of materiality. Decocer is internationally recognized for designing and manufacturing small-sized tiles exclusively and custom-made for manufacturers, distributors, and specifiers around the world, combining reliefs, textures, and a wide palette that spans from timeless neutrals to bold, vibrant tones.

The collections showcased under the “Echoes of the Earth” concept emphasize a contemporary, expressive style where small-format ceramics become a powerful architectural resource. Cubik features geometric reliefs in 7.5×30 cm tiles, balancing matte and glossy finishes with a color range stretching from neutral shades to intense hues like Wine, Forest, and Black. Auralis offers artisan textures and intense glazing in 6.1×25 cm format, with natural tones such as Sand and Olive paired with deeper shades of Bordeaux, Navy, and Black, creating strong visual and material impact. Abaco reinvents the classic 10×10 cm matte porcelain tile with a sober palette focused on modulation, graphic rhythm, and clean, timeless compositions.

Senda draws inspiration from Aztec geometries and organic reliefs in a 15×15 cm format, combining neutral tones with decorative pieces that provide tactile richness and balance tradition with modernity. Atlas evokes the Sahara through matte porcelain in 15×15 and 5×15 cm, combining simple white and terracotta bases with glazed decorations in green, blue, and black for timeless elegance and contrast. Petrea reinterprets terrazzo with a palette of five tones that blend natural vitality with contemporary style.
Argila captures the earthy skin of clay through craquelures and organic patterns in six warm tones, emphasizing texture and authenticity. Kai’s designs are inspired by moving water, with transparent glazing in hues reminiscent of marine light and sunsets, enveloping spaces in freshness and calm. Lastly, Water features crystallized salts and pigments that mimic the mineral textures of the sea, with irregular reliefs and color gradients in four shades that bring a sense of oceanic depth and energy to architectural spaces.
