The director’s chair has remained virtually unchanged for over a century, with most manufacturers using traditional wood frames and metal hardware for basic folding mechanisms. The Directa Chair emerged from designing for yacht and outdoor environments, where corrosive saltwater conditions demand elegant solutions that store compactly in premium spaces.
The Directa Chair reinvents the classic Director’s chair. Warm teak provides a structural foundation and tactile comfort, while stainless steel rods create an impossibly strong folding mechanism. The chair utilizes the classic Director’s chair X-geometry with a proven over-center locking design, allowing the chair to fold to under 6 inches thick. Stainless steel’s natural corrosion resistance ensures the chair adapts seamlessly to any environment.
