Filia’s shape was inspired by the notoriously resilient nature of ostrich eggs, renowned for their durability while maintaining a soft surface with a satiny finish.
The Filia luminaire has been acknowledged for its design excellence, receiving a 2024 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The shell is also surprisingly lightweight, even if ostrich eggs boast a unique and impressive size, being the largest eggs of any bird species.
