After several years of research and thought, Design Partners and Cricut are encouraging creativity and home crafting with the launch of a new mug press that empowers innovation through pleasurable experiences and simple-to-use designs.
Cricut Mug Press is the first of its kind, a consumer-friendly press designed to be as intuitive and inviting as possible.
Its design has been awarded a 2021 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The ambition with the mug press was to develop an innovative crafting tool that is a delight to use, whilst still safely enabling professional-grade results.
Cricut Mug Press is a heat press designed specifically for decorating mugs.
It uses Cricut’s infusible ink to transfer patterns and designs onto mugs and vessels in as long as it takes to boil a kettle. You can even recreate your children’s artwork with their infusible ink markers.
Once the design has transferred it is permanent, as well as being dishwasher and microwave friendly.
Mug presses already available are complex and industrial-looking, which can be intimidating for hobbyists and crafters.
Starting with the user experience, the design team simplified the entire process, so there’s no need to adjust settings or resort to trial and error – users can get creative immediately.
The press technology is designed and engineered with precision to close around the mug and give even, consistent heat & pressure ensuring a professional quality print.
By automating the controls and simplifying the process, the Mug Press removes barriers to creativity and safely achieves high-quality results. It sits perfectly into the modern home, imbuing the feeling of easy approachability.
The ability to easily create mug masterpieces in the comfort of your home is beautifully representative of the Cricut brand.
Launched the same week as Cricut’s IPO, this is the latest in experiences that encourage the joy of making.
It has received incredible user and critical reviews, selling out completely in the first month and being hailed a “game-changer” from respected publications, empowering creativity, and craft in everyone.
