Manufactured almost entirely in Germany, the T1 & T5 (3rd generation) headphones designed by Juliane Eckstein for beyerdynamic employs a holistic design inspired by architecture.
High standards inspire an aspiration for perfection.
This is the case with T1 and T5: The third generation of Tesla Hi-Fi headphones from beyerdynamic GmbH & Co. KG.
A holistic design approach has been taken, where design and acoustics are in harmony.
T1 & T5 (3rd generation) was awarded a 2021 GOOD DESIGN Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The timeless yet extraordinary design of the headphone models is inspired by architecture.
Designer Juliane Eckstein explains the creation process: “For the T1 and T5 sibling headphones, I was fascinated by a particular design pattern from architecture.”
“For this, I took a closer look at individually patterned perforated sheets. These seem random at first glance, but their beauty lies in the fact that the designer has considered the perforation as a whole.”
“For a holistic design concept, it is important to know how the perfect set of materials, finishes, and colors come together. We chose a modern, yet timeless design that stands on its own.”
The T1 (open) and T5 (closed) headphone models are not just design masterpieces— they guarantee music lovers sophisticated musical enjoyment thanks to their precise and transparent sound, which is the result of Tesla technology developed by beyerdynamic.
Only high-quality materials are used in T1 and T5, including brushed and anodized aluminum.
The detachable cables are textile-sheathed and contain high-purity OCC7N copper conductors—the highest-quality material available for the best possible signal transmission.
Their headbands are covered with Alcantara® which gives them a very special elegance.
The individual components of the T1 are manufactured almost entirely in Germany.
In addition to the development and manufacture of the transducers, the final assembly— the result of elaborate manual work—also takes place at the company’s headquarters in Heilbronn, Germany.
