Shenzhen, China
“Encompassing luxury and elegance, the development will serve as a significant urban landmark in the Futian District,” said Aedas Global Design Principal Christine Lam.

Situated in Shenzhen, China, Aedas’s latest project for the Shirble – The Prime consists of three serviced apartment towers, a 250-meter office tower, a retail podium and a Skypark for Shenzhen Shengrunfeng Investment & Development Co. Ltd.
Led by Global Design Principals Christine Lam and David Clayton and the design team at Aedas, the project encompasses luxury and elegance and serves as a landmark in the Futian District while also integrating residential, office, shopping and entertainment space.

Located between Futian and Luohu of the Ba Gua Ling District, the new development’s unique character traits are represented through the king of birds, the “Peng.”
Adopting the form of the Peng’s spread wings, the project’s structure depicts imagery of a bird soaring off the mountain top.

The design layout considers the land conditions and the surrounding transportation network, and builds an internal circular traffic flow line around the bus station to serve various functional formats.
The apartment tower, located in the north, enjoys the Silver Lake Mountain view; coupled with the office tower in the south adjacent to the subway station with high commercial value, a commercial porch entrance is formed.

This careful plan capitalizes on the full potential of landscape resources while maximizing the realization of cross natural ventilation in the area.
The design concept resonates with the unique character of Shenzhen, represented by the king of birds, Peng. Shenzhen was established as a Special Economic Zone in the 1980s, rapid and vibrant growth ensued and it has since then assumed a leading role in China’s economy.
The soaring Peng bird, thus, symbolizes Shenzhen’s prominence, and its form of spread wings is applied to the crown of each tower.

Designing a unique landmark, the project is an exceptional beacon and a reflection of Shenzhen’s prominent role in China’s economy and global technology advancement.
The Shirble — The Prime would revitalize the Ba Gua Ling industrial zone—a central area of Shenzhen.

The towers feature a retail podium from which one Grade-A office tower and three residential ones of various heights rise, connected by a sky-park at 150 meters above the ground.
The high-density development aims to respond to the city’s demand for housing while bringing multiple aspects of urban life into one building.
Aedas’ design is shaped in relation to the surrounding landscape and transportation network, maximizing views and cross-ventilation.

As stated by the designers, the crown of each tower is a reference to the open wings of the Peng bird, a nod to Shenzen’s prominence.

The residential towers feature various unit sizes, from small lofts to large apartments.
The sky-park provides a communal space for the residential program, encompassing a sky garden, gym, clubhouse and other recreational facilities.
Social gathering spaces are also found in the retail podium, together with indoor-outdoor areas that would cater to the residents as well as the local community.
