Designers Song Tang, Dongfeng Lian, Xusheng Cui, Ye Wang, and Han Tian from Beijing Puppy Robotics create the Hachi Infinite, a new smart projector that can host presentations for business meetings, enable video chats with family or colleagues, help kids to learn, and offer big-screen entertainment.
The project has been awarded a 2020 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
Beijing Puppy Robotics develops this interactive touchscreen where you can swipe, tap, and type on a tabletop, or a wall.
Hachi Infinite is a first-of-its-kind ultra-short-throw smart projector and visual assistant that turns any flat surface into an interactive touchscreen.
Featuring voice control, a powerful Qualcomm chip, and built-in Android OS 9.0, the portable projector delivers exceptional quality pictures and supports 1080p 4K-compatible content with a 600 ANSI lumens HD display of up to 100 inches.
Combining industry-first AI capabilities and an all-new custom UI, Hachi Infinite allows users to enjoy every Android app ever made with impressive touchscreen functionality, along with seamless pairing compatibility across iOS and Android devices.
Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon SDA670 chip, a new hardware framework for projectors, Hachi Infinite features user-friendly voice control with natural language processing and voice recognition capabilities.
Incorporating deep learning technology coupled with high-precision sensors to allow image recognition, gesture recognition, and skeleton recognition, Hachi Infinite enables more intuitive interactions with users to create an enjoyable and immersive experience for kids and adults alike in learning, cooking, fitness, and other settings.
Hachi Infinite’s 10-point AnyTouch multitouch technology provides unparalleled responsiveness and allows for intuitive, immersive presentations and demos, multiplayer games for the whole family, and interactive, enlarged interpretations of everyday apps that reinvent the entire experience.
Using computer vision to track and read each user’s touch, the device generates a 23-inch interactive, tablet-like touchscreen both in horizontal and vertical projection modes.
Using intelligent voice recognition, Hachi Infinite enables hands-free operation for use with big-screen entertainment, video calling, streaming music and so much more.
The built-in smart assistant helps users plan their day, informing them of the weather, assisting with convenient alarms and reminders, offering support in the kitchen and so much more.
With an autofocus ultra-short throw DLP, the projector provides clear vision, keystone correction, a three-axis low gravity sensor for eye protection, auto rendering, and close-range projection from only half an arm’s distance away.
In addition, the system includes a built-in battery, dual 5W speakers, 64 GB of built-in storage, and a Bluetooth remote, so users can access their favorite apps, games, and entertainment with ease, anywhere.
