Enlisted by Cal Y Mayor y Asociados, Alvear Arquitectos has designed Casa Margaritas, a three-story family residence developed with a large format of materials, such as stone and polished concrete finishes, as well as oak and walnut wood finishes that give great warmth and sense of tranquility to the interior of the residence.
Casa Margaritas has recently been awarded a 2022 International Architecture Awards Honorable Mention by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
In this residence, all spaces have a view of the garden, living room, dining room, and kitchen with folding doors.
The upstairs bedrooms all have a balcony and protection so that there is no direct radiation from the doors, the contact with the outside makes it very pleasant.
The ground level has all the social area, which has a total integration with the garden.
The first floor allocates a working studio for his wife and daughter, the master bedroom, their daughter’s bedroom, and a TV lounge.
On the second level, there is a gym, his office (with connecting service to all his office locations), a guest’s bedroom, and a multipurpose room.
Making use of the final slab, we proposed a pergola on top, in order to have a rooftop terrace.
Being preventive, the clients said this is the house where they want to spend the rest of their lives.
So in addition to the stair, we have also installed an elevator, that goes from the ground floor all the way to the rooftop.
To conclude, special window frames were chosen for the acoustic insulation of the rooms and, in addition, to integrate the interior spaces of the house with the terraces and gardens.
“We all, just feel as if we are living in a small boutique hotel. I feel very lucky, that my family and myself are transiting this complicated period in such beautiful spaces. It’s turning the other way around, it’s going to be hard to go back to the office,” claim the owners.
