Furniture designer Ralf Umland collaborates with Viasit’s in-house design team and together create Com4lounge, an individually configurable modular seating system with a minimal and retro design language.
The project has been been awarded a 2020 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The modular system includes armchairs, sofas, stools, a bench, a daybed, and table elements.
The black tubular steel frame is both a design and construction element and forms a characteristic signature of the product.
Viasit builds furniture that strives for maximum sustainability in all aspects, sourcing over 90% of materials and components in Germany and Europe through a product design that ensures long durability and which also enables the simplest possible and pure recycling of the raw materials used.
Power and USB sockets can be built into the radius of the armrest. Retro-fit adaptable work tablet on the armrests/side section. Storage compartment made of metal for tool-free suspension on the side frame rail. Patented ergonomic sitting support made out of glass-fiber reinforced plastic slats for long-lasting elasticity, durability, and comfort.
