Pulsatil brings its approach to light, material and atmosphere aboard the Orient Express Corinthian, translating the spirit of the legendary train into a bespoke lighting collection created for life at sea.
Working closely with architect Maxime d’Angeac, the atelier conceived and produced the majority of the yacht’s lighting: 471 bespoke luminaires across more than 20 designs, each developed to complement the architecture and shape how guests experience the vessel.
Under d’Angeac’s artistic direction, the interiors combine references to 1920s Art Deco with a contemporary sensibility.
Rare wood veneers, leather and marble establish a rich material palette, brought to life through the work of nearly 2,000 French artisans.

Within this setting, Pulsatil approached lighting as an integral part of the architecture, considering how each piece would reveal a surface, soften a transition or lend intimacy to a room.
The resulting collection connects the heritage of the Orient Express with the demands of a contemporary yacht.
Some luminaires reinterpret the visual language of the original train, while others originate directly from d’Angeac’s designs, realized in close collaboration with Pulsatil’s atelier.
Together, they establish a consistent lighting language throughout the vessel while responding to the distinct character of its private suites, lounges and circulation spaces.

A Language of Light and Material
Throughout the Corinthian, sculptural wall fixtures, concealed architectural lighting and integrated decorative pieces create layers of illumination that bring depth and warmth to the interiors.
Their presence is carefully balanced, defining each space while allowing its architecture and materials to remain the focus.
Light draws out the grain of wood veneers, the texture of leather and the reflective qualities of polished metal and stone. In several spaces, it casts delicate patterns across floors and surrounding surfaces, adding another dimension to the interiors through the interplay of light and shadow.
Gentle transitions between spaces establish continuity, guiding guests through the yacht without interrupting the atmosphere of calm.
This restraint reflects Pulsatil’s belief that lighting should shape how a space feels as much as how it looks. A softly illuminated corridor encourages a slower pace, while warm reflected light makes a room feel more welcoming.
Each source contributes to an experience that unfolds gradually as guests move through the vessel.

Designed for Rest and Retreat
Within the private suites, Pulsatil developed lighting that supports moments of reading, conversation and quiet retreat.
Gentle diffusion and carefully balanced illumination create an intimate atmosphere that works in harmony with the architecture and changing natural light throughout the day.
Among the collection’s distinctive pieces, the Orient Express – Suite lamp expresses this approach at a personal scale. Its domed, vertically segmented shade diffuses a soft, even glow, while a polished base brings clarity and balance to the composition.
The design connects the broader aesthetic of the yacht with the comfort of an individual guest’s surroundings.
In the lounges, layered lighting introduces a more social rhythm while maintaining the same sense of restraint. Illumination reveals the richness of wood, leather and stone, creating welcoming settings for conversation and gathering.
Across both public and private spaces, each luminaire contributes to a shared atmosphere while serving the particular needs of its setting.

Craftsmanship Engineered for Life at Sea
Developed over more than a year, the collection required close coordination between design intent and technical execution.
Each luminaire was engineered to meet the demands of a maritime environment while preserving the proportions, finishes and quality of light central to Pulsatil’s work.
Materials were selected with attention to how they interact with light over time and under changing conditions aboard the yacht.
Behind the apparent simplicity of the finished pieces lies the precision required to balance performance with clarity, durability and visual harmony.
Aboard the Orient Express Corinthian, Pulsatil’s work brings heritage and contemporary craftsmanship into the everyday experience of the voyage.
From the intimate glow of a suite lamp to the layered illumination of a lounge, light connects architecture, material and emotion, creating spaces whose character is felt as much as it is seen.
