ARE by Yonoh Creative Studio is an interpretation of the classic picnic table that we all know and love. Clara Del Portillo, lead designer of the project, wanted to imagine and create ultra-flexible street furniture that adapts to different lifestyles.

Flexibility is a central characteristic of this new, more city-oriented, interpretation of the picnic table. Standing or sitting, opposite or more simply to contemplate the landscape, to eat, rest, or to work ARE aims to be a meeting place that adapts to all urban situations.

ARE: multi functional urban picnic table has been awarded a Prize Design for Modern Furniture + Lighting 2023 by Global Design News and The Chicago Athenaeum Museum for Architecture and Design.
Clara Del Portillo and Yonoh Creative Studios wanted multifunctionality to be the basis of this street furniture: Modular to create totally personalized seating and table systems in relaxation mode or rather work.

ARE street furniture also offers connectivity to create urban workstations. The absence of legs on the sides between the seat and the table facilitates installation on the benches.
A horizontal bar on the higher version serves as a footrest. The combination of powder-coated steel and hardwood guarantees the longevity of this furniture. The ARE tables were designed from two combinable elements: a high-element ARE (H) and a low-element ARE (B). Each element is composed of a table and a bench.
