Zhumadian, China
Xuesong Qiao, Xiang Li, and Xiaokun Zhu of Benjai Architecture and landscape architects L&A Design collaborate to create Central China Real Estate Zhumadian Sales Centre’s office using and combining different elements from contemporary architecture and Chinese culture.
The project has been awarded a 2021 International Architecture Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The design team decided not to follow stereotypes in building a typical office venue.
Instead, they create an elegant structure made of smooth wood and sedate stone following clean-cut lines.
The architectural style of the building combines abstract design and representationalism which refer to the original design.
Within the structure, the architects have included small details in order to compliment the whole building.
