Jason Bird and Luxxbox launches the Georgina lamp, a pendant luminaire that cleverly integrates high-performance lighting with effective noise absorption, resulting in a serene and functional display.
The acoustic lampshade has a soft texture and a flowing crisscross pattern, while the decorative glass diffuser disperses light down, introducing textural depth.

For its design, The Georgina lamp has recently won a 2024 Prize Designs for Modern Furniture + Lighting Award from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and Global Design News.
Its sweeping convex shape and neutral marled gray hue create a relaxed and comfortable environment, perfect for commercial, hospitality, or high-end residential spaces.
Georgina reinterprets the iconic Flotte Lantern’s design into into a new diffused glass form and coupled it with a large domed acoustic shade echoing the same crisscross pattern.
Together, the juxtaposition of the glass diffuser and textured acoustic shade creates a beautiful, timeless acoustic pendant.

The elegant fixture is constructed with a sturdy dome yet has a delicate weightlessness. The pattern and curve of the pendant soften the design while the large acoustic shade provides highly effective acoustic absorption.
Positioned above the source of sound waves, Georgina’s large lampshade absorbs sound as it travels up from head-level conversations, intercepting and dampening the noise before it reaches the ceiling and reverberates.
The fixture optimizes and activates the often-overlooked space between the ceiling and the desktop.
Additionally, Georgina pleasantly zones open areas and creates calming, comfortable spaces.

Georgina is available in a single size of 30.7 inches (780mm) in diameter and boasts a versatile neutral gray colorway that complements a wide array of interior styles.
The pendant is equipped with height-adjustable 9-foot (3-meter) black suspension cables that can be grouped and hung at alternating heights to create a unique visual display that increases acoustic coverage.
Highlighting sustainability and circular design, Georgina is fashioned from premium PET material, a dense polyester fiber manufactured from recycled plastics.
The material is non-toxic, non-allergenic, non-irritant, and lacks formaldehyde binders.
The eco-friendly production process generates no waste water, emissions, or adhesive. Fully recyclable at the end of its life, Georgina contributes to LEED points.
With its adaptability, elegant aesthetics, and sustainable design, Georgina represents a forward-thinking approach to modern lighting design.
