Junghyun Cho and Junghwan Song of Ceragem’s Design Innovation Center’s Product Design Team have designed CERAVOT 1.5, an advanced, specialized robot cleaner that not only wet-cleans but goes one step further in sterilizing the floor surface to destroy bacteria and maintain clean environments.
The expansion of the robot cleaner market along with the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic has increased worldwide demand for personal hygiene and sanitary products.
Conventional robotic cleaners first created by western developers focus more on vacuuming or washing carpets, accommodating a more western domestic environment.
CERAVOT 1.5, on the other hand, is an innovative product that is able to remove dirt and sanitize hard floor surfaces simultaneously, providing a better user experience for Asian clients, who spend much time on the floor and regularly wet-clean it.
For its innovative design, CERAVOT 1.5 has recently been awarded a 2022 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

CERAVOT 1.5 is an advanced, specialized robot cleaner that not only wet-cleans but also sterilizes the floor surface to destroy bacteria and maintain clean environments.
Sterilization, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, is a feature that answers the increasing need for personal hygiene and clean environments.
CERAVOT 1.5 has three separate mops attached to the triangular-shaped body, which helps it to effectively clean corners in diverse environments.
Its straight and curved design elements harmoniously form the robust triangular structure of the body, while the silver lining and active ambient lighting off-sets the simplicity of the shape.
Ultimately, both features result in a minimal yet sophisticated design.

The bold triangular shape of CERAVOT 1.5 is able to adapt to various environments with its ability to reach tight corners that conventional robot cleaners cannot.
Active ambient lighting hidden underneath the silver lining around the water tank becomes inconspicuous when switched off, contributing to CERAVOT 1.5’s perfect mixture of minimal and technical looks, without disrupting the simple harmony of materials and seams.
The active ambient light allows for an easy-to-read display of the operation status.
Unlike competing products that come with a separate sterilization solution formulating kit, CERAVOT 1.5 integrates it in the design, reducing complexity.

It is also capable of operating for over 100 minutes with its increased water-holding capacity of 250ml.
Built-in sterilization solution formulating unit reduces investment and production costs by a large margin.
Also, much-improved features, such as larger water-holding capacity, faster operation with the upgraded gearbox, and low noise of 45db, make CERAVOT 1.5 the market leading product.
